play-sharp-fill

Following test automation and DevOps, the next generation of automation within the software development life cycle (SDLC) comes to us in the form of AI-inspired approaches: Analytics, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. Geoff Meyer, Test Architect at Dell EMC, refers to this as Cognitive Automation; the automation of tasks that up until now could only be performed by humans.

Software engineering and QA managers going down the path of Cognitive Automation should proceed with caution due to the combination of excessive hype and unprecedented complexities as compared to prior stages of automation.

Join Geoff as he provides a framework for managers to use when considering the application of AI to tasks within their SDLC. The approach, developed while leading the Dell EMC Test AI initiatives, provides managers with a means of countering the optimistic and sometimes unrealistic expectations of their organizations with a pragmatic, yet goal-oriented framework.

Join this webinar to learn:

  • Common pitfalls of managers who use AI without proper preparation or planning
  • How to create a framework for using AI tools within your software development and QA teams
  • How to manage the unrealistic expectations of your organizations when using AI tools
